Iris Media Publishing
The private publishing tool Iris Media uses for its own videos.
What it is
Iris Media makes short documentary videos. Iris Media Publishing is the small tool that uploads a finished video to Iris Media's own YouTube channel, or places it as a draft in Iris Media's own TikTok inbox, after the owner has reviewed it and approved that specific upload.
Who uses it
Only Iris Media. It is not a public service: there are no sign-ups, no user accounts and nothing to install. The only accounts that ever connect to it are Iris Media's own YouTube channel and TikTok account.
What it does with YouTube
- Uploads a video that the owner approved, to Iris Media's own channel, with the title, description and settings the owner chose for it.
- Reads the channel's name and ID, to make sure the upload goes to the right channel, and reads the processing status of videos it uploaded.
What it does with TikTok
- Sends a video that the owner approved to Iris Media's own TikTok inbox as a draft. The owner finishes and posts it in the TikTok app; the tool never posts to TikTok directly.
- Reads the account's ID and display name, to make sure the draft goes to the right account, and reads the status of drafts it sent.
It never posts on its own, never edits or deletes other videos, and never reads comments, analytics or viewers' data. Details are in the privacy policy and the terms of service.
